It’s a positive vision, rooted in hope, and the conviction that when people invest in youth great things can happen. We believe that when we take time to mentor and lead our youth, they will be successful adults. LSY is built on mentorship. Our team has a passion for partnering with parents, school systems, state programs and community volunteers to see our youth rise like rockets. We are a village of supporters, parents, cheerleaders, coaches, advocates, friends, mentors and teachers supporting the youth in our community to rise above the challenges of circumstance and achieve their greatest potential.
LSY Alum have a 99.99% graduation rate and can typically read above their current grade level. Reading is one of the most important life skills for children. We focus on reading and writing with our After-School and Summer Academies.
After being founded in 2007, LSY has had supporters in the community that have been a major part in our development as an organization. We are thankful to continue to partner with organizations that see our vision for the future.
2011 marked the first year of record enrollment for Life Skills for Youth® (LSY). LSY has had a waiting list for all major programs for nine years. In order to serve more youth in our community, our focus is building a LSY Literacy and Technology Center. With our campaign for hope, we are raising funding to house our academies for years to come.
